Spicy Honey Lime Topping
Take lime juice and zest, add it to honey with some spices and you have yourself a tasty topping for waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, ice cream and pancakes. I think there are a lot more ways to enjoy this flavor packed wonder, I will keep you updated. In the meantime, give this a try yourself and by all means let me know how it brightened up your next recipe. This will make enough for a few waffles or pancakes and probably 2 or 3 days of yogurt, but by all means make up a double batch and keep it in the fridge for when you need that little something special topping.
Spicy Honey Lime Topping
by Inspired by the Seasons
- 3 T honey
- 1 T lime juice
- 1/4 tsp lime zest
- 1/4 tsp cardamon
- 1/8 tsp cayenne
- dash of salt
- 1 T butter optional
Add the ingredients to a small saucepan on very low heat, stir until combined. Remove from heat and pour into a lidded container. Serve by pouring or spooning over pancakes, ice cream, oatmeal etc. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
