Orange and Ginger Hot Drink
Cold and Flu season is upon us so I thought it would be a good idea to get working on a hot drink to keep us healthy. There is nothing more comforting that holding onto a warm beverage in the winter months, don't you agree? This uses cara cara oranges which are in season right now, but if you are reading this later in their season, good old navel oranges work well too, you may want to add more honey though since they are not as sweet. I have been submitting recipes to a Food52 app, and this recipe has been a big hit there. I figured it was time to make an official blog post of it. Drink to your health!
Orange and Ginger Hot Drink
by Inspired by the Seasons
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 T honey
- Juice from 1/2 of an orange
- 2 T fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Hot water
In the bottom of your favorite mug, muddle the ingredients together and add fresh ginger, let steep 5 minutes to enhance the flavors.
